Applying, sending, paying and proof, answered in plain words. If your question isn’t here, send a business enquiry and we’ll reply within one business day.
Before you apply
Who can apply for a business account?
Any business with an Australian ABN can apply online, sole traders included, from Australia or from overseas. A business based outside Australia without an ABN can send a business enquiry to apply by arrangement.
How long does approval take?
Within one business day. We review every application before an account is opened.
Is there a fee or a minimum?
No subscription, no account fee, no minimum order and no lock-in. You pay per envelope, when you send.
What does a business account add to the standard service?
The order builder for batches, with each recipient’s own documents if you need them; Registered Post and Express Post with Signature; a Document Handling Certificate for every envelope; encryption at rest; a shared address book; team logins; PO numbers and cost centres on branded invoices and monthly statements; and volume pricing.
Can I ask a question before applying?
Yes. Send a business enquiry and we’ll reply within one business day.
Sending
How many envelopes can one order hold?
Up to 100. A larger mail-out goes as several orders.
Can I send different documents to different people in one order?
Yes. Choose the same documents for everyone, or different documents for each recipient.
Can one envelope hold several documents?
Yes. Add as many documents as the envelope needs.
Can I mix services, colour and countries in one order?
Yes. Each recipient can have their own service, black and white or colour, and domestic and international recipients go in the same order.
How do I add recipients?
Paste them from a spreadsheet into the order, pick them from your shared address book, or add them one at a time with address autocomplete. You can import up to 500 addresses into the address book at once.
Can I send from overseas?
Yes. You build orders in the portal from anywhere, and the mail is posted in Australia. Business mail from anywhere.
When does my mail go out?
Orders placed before 2pm AEST are dispatched same business day. Paying by BECS Direct Debit? Your mail is posted once the debit settles, usually within a few business days.
What paper and envelopes do you use?
Every document is printed on quality A4 paper and goes in an envelope sized to it: a DL for a few pages, a C5 for more, a C4 or B4 for thick packs.
Pricing and paying
How does the discount work?
7% off every order from the day you are approved. Send 15 or more envelopes in a month and every order the next month is 20% off. The discount comes off the whole order, extra pages included, and your first month is always 7%.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Card, Link, Apple Pay, Google Pay, BECS Direct Debit and PayTo, at checkout.
Can we pay by invoice?
New accounts pay at checkout. Once your account is established, you can ask us about paying by invoice.
Can we put a PO number on our orders?
Yes. Every order takes a PO number and a cost centre, and both appear on the invoice and the monthly statement.
Which currency are business prices in?
Australian dollars, on every rate and every invoice.
Proof, privacy and deletion
What is a Document Handling Certificate?
One per envelope: a chain of custody: when its documents were received and encrypted, when it was enveloped (where that is recorded), when it was lodged with Australia Post, and when its documents were permanently deleted. How certificates work.
Does the certificate show delivery?
No. You follow delivery on the envelope’s timeline in your portal, in the email notifications and on Australia Post tracking.
Can a certificate show my letter went before a deadline?
It records the date it was lodged with Australia Post, and the time where one is recorded, and anyone you share it with can check its ID and fingerprint against PostMyDoc’s records on the public verify page. Whether that satisfies a particular requirement is for you and your advisers to decide.
Are my documents encrypted?
Yes. Business documents are encrypted in transit and at rest, printed once, and permanently deleted within 24 hours of dispatch. We keep no archive, and a copy caught in a routine server backup stays encrypted and ages out within 30 days.
Can I follow each envelope?
Yes. Every envelope has a timeline in your portal, with email notifications: received, enveloped, lodged, and for tracked services in transit and delivered. Envelopes that can’t be delivered show with the reason.
Is PostMyDoc ISO 27001 certified?
No. Our hosting provider holds an ISO 27001 certification. PostMyDoc does not claim one for itself.
Your account
Can my whole team use one account?
Yes, with one shared address book. Everyone on the account has their own login. Your account admin is told about every invite, can require approval for all of them, and sees every order and statement across the account; everyone else sees their own.
